All Available Restrooms
I have become a bathroom traveler. As a mother of two young children, I’m keenly aware of all emergency exits and, more importantly, all available restrooms. In a world where function and form collide, the bathroom is seldom explored with an artistic eye.
These images show my travels to the Oregon State Library, Capitol building, Riverfront Carousel, Reed Opera House, Capitol Mall, Riverfront Park, Clockworks Café, Bush’s Pasture Park, Cherriots bus station, Minto-Brown Island Park and the Salem Public Library. Can you recognize them?
Jessica Ramey, a forensic craftologist and creative reuse founder (DIY Studio), photographs the streets of Salem to uncover stories in the most unlikely of places.
I certainly recognize the second and last pictures as the Oregon State Library. When we renovated the Library in the 1990′s we had a very limited budget. To cut costs we had to eliminate the tile on the walls that we had originally planned to have. But we still had the lovely old oak doors (seen in the last picture) that we were able to refinish.
